I was prepared for a typical Tuesday, locked away in the corners of Jones Library, deep into the night. That is, until I received a phone call from Matthew MacDonald stating that he was in Waco. Much to my surprise, I abandoned my books and study sheets for the remainder of my Valentine’s day. Seeing as I haven’t been a “girlfriend” in almost a year, I found it rather odd to be receiving gifts of flowers and donut holes. However, Matt made me feel at ease when he revealed The Black Keys album from his back seat. Such a swell soul my boyfriend is.
We then proceeded to buy a pizza and adventure to the Waco Regional Airport, which if you don’t know is way the crap out in the middle of sketch Waco. There, we ate pizza on the roof of his jeep and spoke of our least favorite candies and what we were thankful for. We even danced to Fun.’s We Are Young.
He had me back into my tower a little after midnight, so I could continue studying.
‘Twas a very good Tuesday, indeed. The terms of relationships are foreign to me and the movements are unfamiliar, but the friendship is strong. That’s the only thing that matters. That’s the only thing that has to matter. Matthew Hunter has to be the most wonderful boy included in my small handful of friends. I’m so glad to have him around.
I’m a very, very lucky girl.
Happy Wednesday.
I hate you both for being so damn precious.
